Mammography Technologist Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at CareerNation. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic examinations to diagnose or decide the optimal procedure for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiographic procedures and operate related equipment
  • Greet patients, obtain history, and enter information in the computer system
  • Identify anatomical orientation on images and ensure proper file identification
  • Demonstrate patient care and protect patients from excessive radiation
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires
  • Perform procedures in compliance with Standards of Care, facility, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to efficient out-patient operations and maximize productivity
  • Review examinations for technical accuracy and present completed examinations to radiologists

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine preferred
  • ARRT certified and NY State license in Radiologic Technology
  • One to four years of experience in general radiologic technology preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds
