Safety Systems Project Leader

Position Overview:
Overseeing and coordinating the implementation of functional safety (FuSa) initiatives within project frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the quotation process for new opportunities and the formulation of Development Interface Agreements.

Lead the creation of the Safety Plan (FS Plan) based on impact assessments from a defined baseline, as necessary.

Delegate work packages (WPs) outlined in the FS plan to suitable roles within engineering teams, in accordance with APTIV's FuSa RASI and Product Development Process.

Offer technical FuSa support to engineering teams engaged in safety-related WPs and tasks within the FS Plan.

Collaborate with the project manager to integrate critical WPs and activities from the FS Plan into the overarching project Master Plan.

Work closely with the project manager to monitor and evaluate the execution of the FS plan. Maintain an internal list of issues and escalate concerns following APTIV's FuSa escalation protocol.

Assist in managing project changes and conducting deviation management reviews.

Collaborate with the FuSa Audit and Assessment team to establish a tailored Audit and Assessment plan for the project.

Compile the Safety Case for the project and facilitate the approval reviews for Safety Case WPs.

Support the development of FuSa Release for Production.

Serve as the primary liaison with the customer’s functional safety team.

Provide FuSa assessment reports for key suppliers.

Coordinate meetings for the project Functional Safety Board (FSB), if applicable.

Guide Production, Operations, Service, and Decommission teams on FuSa-related matters and challenges.

Authorities:
Develop and formally release FuSa-related deliverables, including: -Project Safety Plan -Project Safety Case -FuSa Assessment of key project suppliers.

Report on formal FuSa status for any project.

Lead the project Functional Safety Board (FSB) meetings, if established.

Act as the main point of contact with the customer’s functional safety team.

Qualifications:
Analyze customer safety requirements to ensure clarity for project needs.

Experience in analyzing Functional Safety Requirements to formulate system-level Technical Safety Concepts and Technical Safety Requirements in collaboration with engineering teams.

Conduct safety analyses using FMEDAs, FTAs, etc., with a solid understanding of safety methodologies and testing techniques.

Comprehend detailed safety requirements, including diagnostic, software, and hardware specifications.

Experience in ensuring the implementation and traceability of system safety requirements in Software and Hardware, linking them to relevant safety analyses, design artifacts, and V&V artifacts.

Support confirmation and verification reviews with product teams to ensure compliance with functional safety standards throughout the product development lifecycle.

Experience in System Reliability Analysis:
FMEA, FMEDA, FTAs.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
