Job Summary

We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. As a Per Diem RN, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics, with a focus on COVID, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, chest pain, stroke, and pediatric patients.
  • Manage patient care in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and making sound decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient care and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, using clear and concise language to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with a current California RN license.
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a pediatric or critical care unit.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Flexibility to float to other units or specialties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • Knowledge of Pyxis medication system.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
