Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients with cardiac conditions, including those who have undergone open-heart surgery, cardiac catheterization, and other cardiac procedures.
- Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including cardiac medications, blood thinners, and other medications.
- Perform various medical procedures, including inserting IV lines, administering medications, and performing ECGs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other staff members, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning to ensure patients receive the necessary information and support to manage their condition after discharge.
- Current RN licensure in the state of California.
- 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac care unit or similar setting.
- Experience with cardiac medications, including heparin, cardizem, and bumex.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience with cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures.
The Cardiac Care Unit is a 24/7 unit that provides care to patients with cardiac conditions. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation equipment.
