Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview:
HexaQuEST Health, Inc. is looking for a skilled Hospital Pharmacy Technician. The ideal candidate will possess experience with XR2 Robot, Med Carousel, Omnicell, as well as IV compounding and Chemotherapy compounding.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with all necessary elements of United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Chapters 795, 797, and 800, adhering to ISMP guidelines.
2. Manage hazardous waste collection and disposal procedures effectively.
3. Train new pharmacy technicians and pharmacists on IV clean room and anteroom protocols.
4. Oversee the ordering, restocking, and maintenance of IV room inventory, including monitoring for outdated medications and Beyond Use Dating.
5. Process IV drug orders with wholesalers and handle the receipt and restocking of delivered medications.
6. Monitor the accuracy and compliance of Dispense Prep and IV medication administration using electronic records.
7. Assume the responsibilities of Pharmacy Purchaser in their absence.
8. Participate in the annual inventory process and manage patient charges and ancillary department charges as needed.
9. Engage in at least one multidisciplinary committee within the health system, such as Medication Safety or a Local, State, or National Committee.

Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work across multiple pharmacy locations.
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure is mandatory.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or through NHA is required.
