Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team at UCLA Health, you will operate under the guidance of the Practice Manager, Clinical Director, and Lead MD, taking on the role of a clinic-level supervisor. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of clinical and administrative tasks aimed at enhancing patient care and practice management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality direct nursing care to patients, adhering to the standards set by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
- Engage in administrative functions such as quality assurance, management of clinical supplies, and supporting established clinic workflows.
- Facilitate staff education and training to ensure a knowledgeable team.
- Provide direct patient care to a varied patient demographic, maintaining exemplary standards and recognizing both normal and abnormal clinical signs.
- Collaborate with the Ambulatory Nursing Team to uphold clinical standards and practices.
Compensation
Salary Range: $76.05 per hour
Qualifications
- Active license from the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners, including certification in Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal.
- Current CPR BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an LVN.
- Proficient in taking vital signs, administering medications, and managing drug refills.
- Able to identify abnormal laboratory results and communicate findings to the physician.
- Understanding of common and critical medical conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative working environment with physicians, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other relevant skills within the scope of practice.
- Proficient in computer operations, including navigating Windows and utilizing computerized patient care systems.
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling biohazardous materials.
- Effective verbal communication skills for conveying sensitive information courteously.
- Leadership capabilities to guide a team while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues, patients, and nursing staff.
- Team-building and leadership experience, preferably with prior supervisory roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with instruments and supplies necessary for conducting physical examinations and procedures.
- Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
