The Grand Event Center is actively looking for an On Call Banquet Server to enhance our service team.

As a banquet server, you will be integral in delivering exceptional experiences for our patrons. Your responsibilities will include the setup and upkeep of tables, buffets, and service carts, ensuring that all arrangements for special events are fulfilled. Maintaining the freshness of buffet items and the presentation of tableware will also be key aspects of your role. **Availability on weekends is essential**.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently prepare equipment and items for catered meals.
  • Arrange dining tables and food stations for optimal service.
  • Provide meal service promptly and courteously.
  • Perform cleanup duties post-service and organize equipment for future events.
  • Anticipate guest needs to ensure a high level of service.
  • Must be capable of standing for the entire shift, as well as squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 30-pound trays.

Physical Requirements:

Meeting these physical demands is crucial for effective performance in this position, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • May require standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Utilize hands and fingers, with a focus on close vision.
  • Excellent communication and listening abilities are essential.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in carrying banquet trays for prolonged durations.
  • Familiarity with room and table configurations.
  • Exceptional guest service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail along with basic reading and writing skills.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in catering or fine dining service is preferred.
