Pediatric Care Coordinator at Texas Children's Hospital ($110,000/year)

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Care Coordinator to join our team at the Newborn Center at Texas Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Level IV NICU team, you will work closely with expert specialists and state-of-the-art technology to deliver the highest quality care. Our teams provide complex medical and surgical care to patients with multiple diagnoses, including respiratory distress, pulmonary hypertension, and congenital heart disease.

We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, and all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and 1 year of professional nursing experience, with a strong ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills and knowledge of unit-specific equipment. Previous NICU or ICU experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze data from the medical record to coordinate patient care
  • Identify each patient's needs pertaining to patient teaching, discharge planning, growth and development, nutritional screening, functional status, and pain management
  • Develop an individualized plan of care based on the nursing assessment
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning patient/family issues
