Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician is accountable for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties.

Utilizing scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing clinical laboratory tests and procedures to ensure accurate results.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure proper function.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Providing training and support to new laboratory staff members.
Requirements:

An Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited two-year college program or technical school is required.

Six months to one year of related experience or training is preferred.

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician from the ASCP, AMT, or equivalent is required within 12 months of hire.

Work Schedule:

This position involves working varied shifts, including 6:30am-3:00pm, 8:30am-5:00pm, with 72 hours every 2 weeks.

This includes every 5th weekend, every 5th holiday, and a weekday/weekend call schedule.

Compensation:

The hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $31.75 per hour.

Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
