Cardiac Echo Sonographer

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Echo Sonographer to join our team of diagnostic imaging professionals. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing and documenting diagnostic echocardiographic procedures, including 2D and M-Mode echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and Holter monitoring.

• Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Maintain and operate echo and Holter equipment, performing 2D and M-Mode echocardiograms, Doppler color flow, treadmill tests, and Holter monitoring.
• Accurate Reporting: Calculate and submit accurate flow velocities, valve areas, and pressure gradients, ensuring the quality of exams and preliminary reports for physician review.
• Communication and Record-Keeping: Communicate critical results to physicians urgently and maintain accurate records for ICAEL re-certification, including peer review and quality assurance.
• Supply Management and Coding: Ensure cleanliness and proper stocking of echo and Holter supplies, and accurately enter codes on Medent.
• Workload Management and Patient Care: Coordinate with office management and front desk to manage workload effectively, while observing universal precautions and adhering to OSHA regulations and infection control policies.
• Professional Development: Participate in clinical educational programs to enhance professional competence and maintain certification.

• Education and Certification: High school diploma and graduation from an AMA-approved health field education program. Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in adult cardiac imaging (RDMS) and BLS certification.
• Skills and Experience: Demonstrated clinical competency according to organizational standards. Proficiency with the practice management system, EMR, and scheduling protocols.

• Basic Keyboard Skills: Basic keyboard skills.

• Confidentiality and Accuracy: Maintains highest level of confidentiality at all times with both patient and organizational information. High level of accuracy when performing duties.

• Physical Demands: Ability to stand/sit for long periods while performing ultrasound studies. Ability to push ultrasound equipment throughout hospital for bedside testing.
• Location: Onsite.

• Hourly Rate: $38.56 to $57.79 per hour.
