Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care at Methodist Hospital. This opportunity is ideal for an individual passionate about creating positive patient interactions and dedicated to caring for the well-being of others.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
  • Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

Compensation and Requirements

This position offers a competitive salary range of $ 65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
