Job Overview

As a Landscape Care Specialist, you will be responsible for executing various landscape maintenance tasks under general supervision. Your role will encompass all aspects of plant health management and daily horticultural operations.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Perform all activities in accordance with the values and integrity of GGP PARKS LLC.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in daily horticultural operations.
  • Adhere to all operational and horticultural guidelines to ensure safety, efficiency, and satisfaction of visitors.
  • Execute landscape tasks such as cutbacks, leaf removal, mulching, pruning, weeding, mowing, string trimming, planting, deadheading, and pesticide applications.
  • Inspect, utilize, and conduct minor repairs on the irrigation system.
  • Implement plant health care practices, including scouting for diseases and pests, proper watering, pesticide application per protocols, and appropriate fertilization.
  • Communicate the need for materials and plants for horticultural tasks and assist in plant design as required.
  • Train and supervise volunteers or temporary staff in safe task execution as needed.
  • Operate necessary equipment for various horticultural tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in horticulture or a minimum of 2 years of experience in horticulture or a related field; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with insurability through the company’s insurance provider.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a pesticide license in Oklahoma.

  • Strong desire and capability to enhance the brand of GGP PARKS LLC and its leadership in the best interest of the community and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience in public parks and horticultural operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Physical Demands

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of meeting the physical demands typical of labor-intensive roles, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, dig, rake, twist, and use hands; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required.
  • Willingness to work varied and extended shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • May encounter exposure to noise, temperature extremes, humidity, dust, or chemicals, necessitating the use of protective equipment.
Safety Considerations
