Renewable Energy Network Specialist

At Vestas, we're seeking a skilled Offshore Network Specialist to join our team. This role involves maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and supporting network infrastructure
  • Performing network diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Working closely with compliance officers on cyber security initiatives
  • Collaborating with global counterparts on technological initiatives
  • Coordinating with customer and global IT support teams to build VPN connectivity
  • Working with vendors to evaluate new technology and resolve system incidents
  • Supervising multiple projects, including implementation of new hardware and software

Essential functions include:

  • Setting up site SCADA system networks
  • Coordinating change requests
  • Assessing technical drawings for accuracy and viability
  • Generating and maintaining technical drawings and documentation
  • Identifying commercial opportunities within customer requests
  • Troubleshooting WAN, LAN, VPN, VLAN, and DMZ connectivity

Qualifications include:

  • CCNP or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in a support role with a focus on network technologies
  • In-depth experience with firewall configuration
  • Professional knowledge of Cisco and Hirschmann network hardware and LAN/WAN/VLAN connectivity
  • Experience in the wind or energy sector preferred
  • Previous experience with standardization and documentation
  • Experience with documentation and diagramming tools
  • Experience with Cyber Security
  • Experience with Microsoft Server in a virtualized environment beneficial
