ABM Industries is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer to join our team in a Data Center environment. As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring the safe and proper operation of life safety equipment, and performing minor plumbing tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, inspect, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting electrical problems and restoring power when failures occur.
- Operate electrical breakers and distribution gear, including UPS, ATS, and generators as needed.
- Install and maintain lighting and controls for lighting, as well as small projects involving conduit and wiring.
- Operate, maintain, and repair equipment associated with HVAC, chilled water systems, and mechanical operations.
- Ensure the safe and proper operation of life safety equipment and minor plumbing.
- Respond to customer requests, submit and close work orders, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to perform all work using the proper personnel protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to perform all applicable safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and consistently achieve results.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with clients and peers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. of equipment; work on platforms, ladders, and under a raised floor.
