Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Automation and Control Systems Specialist

KDC One Knowlton is a leading manufacturer of color cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and other personal care products. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as an Automation and Control Systems Specialist.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for automated machines. This will involve specifying and integrating various sub-system interfaces, testing and maintaining existing systems, and resolving operational problems related to projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems for automated machines
  • Integrate sub-system interfaces, including vision inspection, ink or laser marking, and electrical testers
  • Test and maintain existing systems
  • Resolve operational problems related to projects
  • Define equipment and parts from external suppliers
  • Oversee workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Install equipment and provide on-site support
  • Train associates and maintenance team on proper operation
  • Lead and manage the activities of the Engineering department to ensure optimal results in safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Train, coach, and develop employees within the department to ensure performance expectations and department objectives are met
  • Complete preliminary budgetary information, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other paperwork according to established company policy
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee personnel records and salary information, equipment designs, programming, and other sensitive and confidential information
Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in PLCs and motion controls
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and multimeter
  • Experience in process controls and automation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, and OSHA Safety Requirements
  • Skill in problem solving, prioritizing work, managing, coaching, and developing others
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, resolve difficult situations, adapt to change, develop and maintain good working relationships, lead and develop a high-performing team, develop and maintain processes and workflows, be detail-oriented, communicate effectively, present information to large and small groups, be organized, work quickly and efficiently, multi-task, read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions, work independently and as part of a team, operate a computer, and wear required PPE as needed
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds manually
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, crouch, talk, hear, push, and pull
  • Exposure to frequent movement of motorized equipment throughout the facility, including electric pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
