Key Responsibilities of the Service Manager
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the service department, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering strong relationships with both clients and staff while maintaining accurate service records.
- Establish and implement objectives for the service department.
- Encourage both new and repeat business opportunities.
- Stay informed on manufacturer standards and protocols.
- Possess strong technical expertise.
- Coordinate the workflow of technicians effectively.
- Collaborate with the sales department to enhance service offerings.
- Process all repair orders and ensure accurate account closures.
- Manage warranty claims and oversee warranty timelines.
- Ensure a tidy workshop and customer waiting area.
- Review and authorize technicians' time entries.
- Facilitate the check-in process for new vehicles.
- Monitor technician training and arrange necessary classes.
- Oversee vehicle pick-up and delivery services.
- Handle incoming calls to the dealership professionally.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and prepare service write-ups for all customers.

Qualifications for the Service Manager
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience as a technician is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Additional physical requirements as necessary.
