Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Expertly handling fish and other ingredients essential for sushi crafting.
  • Preparing dishes in accordance with established recipes and directives.
  • Supporting various kitchen stations during preparation and service.
  • Overseeing food inventory and ensuring all orders meet our high-quality standards.
  • Collaborating with front-of-house staff to accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions.
  • Facilitating a smooth order flow between kitchen and dining areas.
  • Reporting any kitchen equipment issues to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Stocking your designated station for subsequent shifts.
  • Assisting in the inventory management of food supplies and related products.
  • Adhering to our rigorous standards for food safety and sanitation.
  • Participating in the training of new team members as needed.
  • Following company protocols with precision and accuracy.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in sushi preparation or as a line cook.
  • Fundamental knowledge of culinary techniques and proficient knife skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, with proficiency in English.
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Food Handler Card required upon hiring.

Preferred:

  • Three or more years of sushi preparation or line cooking experience in a comparable kitchen environment.
  • Completion of formal culinary education or apprenticeship.
Work Environment:
  • Regular exposure to heat from cooking equipment.
  • Typically loud noise levels in the kitchen setting.
