We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide continuous care and supervision to patients, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Obtain vital signs, height, and weight, and collect specimens as needed.
- Perform point-of-care testing and assist with routine patient care activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping hallways clear of excess equipment and emptying linen bags.
- Assist visitors and answer telephones.
- Follow and participate in patient care plans.
- Assist with the management of aggressive patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to establish goals and restrictions of privileges based on patient behavior and level of care.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mental health or human services related field preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare or mental health preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
