Radar Systems Simulation Specialist

The Aerospace Radar Simulation Specialist will assist in modeling the descent and landing of the Human Lander System (HLS) for NASA's HLS navigation team. This position requires a well-rounded background in radar modeling, computer programming, and high-fidelity analysis to prevent damage and destruction of HLS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate radar models into 6-DOF simulations
  • Perform trade studies to assess navigation performance under dispersed radar model parameters
  • Assess partner radar test data and partner radar sensors and models
  • Develop in-house radar models and/or integrate radar sensor models from providers into 6-DOF simulations

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in radar systems simulation
  • Significant radar experience and Matlab and Simulink experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Dynamically model descent systems
  • CAD experience and Design of Experiments experience
  • Python, Fortran, C++ programming experience
  • Familiarity with Linux, Bash, and the use of computational clusters/servers

Work Environment:

The Aerospace Radar Simulation Specialist will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, supporting NASA's HLS navigation team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work independently and collaboratively.
