Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Processing: Assist loan underwriters, loan specialists, and staff with updating loan data and assembling documentation for consumer loans.
  • Documentation Verification: Assemble and verify accuracy of consumer loan documentation.
  • Customer Support: Answer inquiries regarding consumer loan processing information and provide timely responses to member inquiries.
  • Sales and Cross-Selling: Build rapport with members, identify their needs, and actively research their accounts to determine sales and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Escalated Issues: Investigate and reconcile escalated member questions/concerns regarding their disbursed loan products.
  • Loan Closings: Perform loan closings as needed and act as the final point of contact for all parties in the loan transaction.
  • Tracking and Maintenance: Monitor and coordinate title tracking, maintain and track pending and outstanding loan documents, and accurately maintain up-to-date member loan files.
  • Servicing Functions: Process a variety of servicing functions in connection with consumer loans, including retrieving file information upon requests from authorized staff.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Promote and maintain a confidential environment to protect member, employee, and credit union information, and follow all credit union policies, procedures, and requirements, in addition to all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Professional Image: Create and promote a positive professional image of oneself and the credit union.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma, or equivalent, required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Lending/loan processing experience desired, financial services experience desired, and service/sales experience desired.
  • Skills: Strong computer and application skills, strong verbal and written communication and grammar skills, ability to be bonded required, ability to be registered under the SAFE Act, ability to successfully organize, prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and balance time management, ability to perform repetitive tasks, light lifting (up to 25 lbs.), team player with a positive attitude and flexibility, professional demeanor and personal accountability, ability to process detailed financial information, ability to keep up with a busy workflow while meeting deadlines, and ability to sit for extended periods of time.
