Position Overview

The Construction Field Manager is accountable for overseeing all on-site operations, which includes coordinating the efforts of subcontractors. This role encompasses all field activities linked to the project, including the ultimate responsibility for the execution of the Safety/Zero Harm program at the job site, as well as supervising all construction activities performed by subcontractors and in-house teams. The Construction Field Manager collaborates with the project manager to establish the project budget, actively engaging in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is completed on schedule, within financial constraints, and in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position also involves managing and mentoring assistant field managers and other site personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in commercial construction.
  • At least five years of direct supervisory experience in managing staff and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in using personal computers (PC) and company communication tools, including email, the internet, and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
  • Experience with scheduling software applications (preferably P6).
  • Capability to develop and maintain site logistics plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in commercial construction as a general contractor.
  • Previous or current experience in a Superintendent role within commercial construction is highly desirable.
