Key Responsibilities:
The Child and Youth Support Specialist (CYSS) plays a crucial role in delivering direct care and oversight for unaccompanied minors and adolescents. The CYSS is tasked with ensuring that all services adhere to the licensing regulations set forth by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the policies established by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the Intake Process and evaluate each child's physical, medical, and behavioral health requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the child, ensuring that their immediate basic needs are addressed, including access to food, hygiene facilities, clean clothing, and appropriate dormitory assignments.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, the CYSS contributes significantly to the well-being and stability of the children and youth in care.
