Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine diagnostic assessments and medical procedures, including monitoring vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure; changing sterile dressings; administering irrigations and enemas; and preparing patients for laboratory specimen collection.
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Collect blood samples and urine specimens as required.
- Assist in preparing medical equipment and support physicians/nurse practitioners during patient examinations and treatments.
- Observe, document, and communicate patients' conditions and responses to medications and treatments to healthcare providers.
- Ensure a smooth and timely patient flow within the clinic.
- Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations, gathering necessary information and instructing them on sample collection.
- Coordinate patient testing and information dissemination.
- Develop and update patient care plans, manage patient charts, and document test results and examinations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms, including restocking supplies.
- Engage in compliance with CLIA and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant certifications.
- Monitor emergency supplies and equipment as needed.
- Oversee inventory and organization of medical supplies and medications.
- Complete referrals and associated documentation promptly.
- Track required information for UDS compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the clinic operates efficiently.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical or medical operations is required.
Education and Certification
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. Certification from recognized bodies such as The American Association of Medical Assistants is also preferred.
