Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team and assist the managing attorney in providing high-quality legal services. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and assisting with trial and hearing preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the managing attorney with drafting legal documents, including routine pleadings, affidavits, and interrogatories;
  • Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items;
  • Conduct intake and outreach, as well as appear at special legal and community projects;
  • Develop and maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases;
  • Assist attorney with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings;
  • Ability to work effectively with a large caseload and function professionally within a highly stressful environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and communication skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and exercise discretion and good judgment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel or related software;
  • The ability to speak more than one language is a plus;
  • A willingness to, at times, work beyond a minimum seven-hour workday, including evenings and weekends.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in complex litigation is required;
  • Demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations our client serves is necessary;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently at times and also as an effective part of a team, including other attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners.
