Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Investigate complaints and violations, and take enforcement action as necessary
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve code-related issues
  • Provide education and outreach to the public on building codes and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to code enforcement activities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in building code enforcement or a related field; ICBO certification in building inspection and combination dwelling inspection desirable
  • Valid California driver's license with a safe driving record
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to construction sites and other locations. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
