The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist the physician with patient care and follow-up, providing direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting of the Urology Clinic. The LPN will be responsible for interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients, and assisting physicians with patient exams and/or treatment. The LPN will also perform triage with patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations.
Key Responsibilities- Interview patients and obtain vital signs
- Prepare patients for exams and/or treatment
- Assist physicians with patient exams and/or treatment
- Perform triage with patient phone calls
- Coordinate departmental resources regarding tests, orders, radiology, and results
- Provide specific customer services, including screening for financial eligibility, confirming health insurance coverage, and obtaining necessary authorizations for care
- Facilitate communication between providers and patients
- Provide education regarding disease, medications, procedures, or other aspects of patient care
- Maintain the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition
- Participate in ongoing professional development and competency assessment
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
- Current BLS certification
- Oregon LPN license
- Two raises per year
