Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist the physician with patient care and follow-up, providing direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting of the Urology Clinic. The LPN will be responsible for interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients, and assisting physicians with patient exams and/or treatment. The LPN will also perform triage with patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and obtain vital signs
  • Prepare patients for exams and/or treatment
  • Assist physicians with patient exams and/or treatment
  • Perform triage with patient phone calls
  • Coordinate departmental resources regarding tests, orders, radiology, and results
  • Provide specific customer services, including screening for financial eligibility, confirming health insurance coverage, and obtaining necessary authorizations for care
  • Facilitate communication between providers and patients
  • Provide education regarding disease, medications, procedures, or other aspects of patient care
  • Maintain the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and competency assessment
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Current BLS certification
  • Oregon LPN license
