Overview of Key Responsibilities: Engages in the application of wet or dry finishes to concrete components as specified by production documentation.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examines production documentation for the previous day's casting.
- Trims strand ends and applies protective galvanizing material.
- Removes strand ends and utilizes patching substances to meet finishing standards; Cleans concrete from connection plates and applies protective spray coating.
- Removes blockouts and cutbacks, salvaging woodwork as necessary; Prepares PVC blockouts, lifting loop blockouts, cutbacks/blockouts, cleans, etc.
- Applies grout to the edges of concrete components to fill minor imperfections.
- Implements #8 or #13 finishes to concrete elements, as required.
- Utilizes bull float or hard float techniques on wet concrete, as necessary.
- Positions surface plates or lifting mechanisms in wet concrete.
- Executes required finishing tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent educational background; or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
Work Environment: While carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee frequently encounters moving mechanical components and occasionally faces wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is typically high.
