**About the Role:**
The University of Arkansas System is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at the Orthopedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Salary: $35,000 - $50,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be responsible for preparing treatment rooms, assisting with medical procedures, conducting patient interviews, and performing administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination and assist with medical procedures
- Conduct patient interviews and measure vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
- Perform EKG's, dressing changes, and administer approved medications
- Research and scribe for physicians as needed
- Order/accession orders for clinical laboratory or processing center
- Perform administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments and procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED plus successful completion of PCT course within 3 months of hire
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics, and accountability
- Patient care experience and CPR certification/ licensure preferred
