Compensation Analyst

PAYROLL SPECIALIST (Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt)

This role encompasses the management of computerized payroll systems and providing support to the Controller in various operational tasks.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a preference for two (2) years of experience in payroll or accounting; or a combination of education and experience that equips the candidate with the necessary knowledge and skills for this position.
• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles, relevant laws, policies, and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in data management, entry, and reporting with a strong emphasis on detail and confidentiality.
• A minimum of two years of payroll experience is required, with a preference for familiarity with Paylocity.
• Experience with employee benefits and other accounting functions is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and address complex issues in a timely manner.

• Calculate compensation based on hours worked, including various leave types and overtime.
• Gather and verify timesheets for accuracy.
• Execute payroll processing and electronically transmit data to Paylocity for check and direct deposit preparation.
• Ensure all payroll operations comply with company policies.
• Prepare monthly payroll and accounting journal entries, including various balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide training for new employees on the Paylocity system.
• Calculate and manage retirement contributions.
• Administer taxable fringe benefits.
• Process administrative deposits and assist with recording wire deposits to the general ledger.
• Calculate and submit monthly sales tax returns.
• Serve as a backup for various purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

This role involves eight (8) hour shifts with the possibility of a one-hour unpaid break, five days a week. The schedule may be subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Additional policies regarding this position are outlined in the current policies and procedures manual.
