Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Equipment Technician to join our team at Saint Joseph Health System. As a key member of our Clinical Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing expert maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on medical equipment, including diagnostic and therapeutic devices.
  • Conduct safety testing and inspections to ensure equipment meets regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to understand operational needs and resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Document maintenance activities, repair status, and delays in accordance with established policies.
  • Provide training and assistance to junior technicians as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as medical electronics or electronic technology.
  • Three to five years of experience in medical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • CBET certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and training facilities. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 100 pounds frequently. Travel to various locations may be required.
