Job Title: Special Education Paraprofessional

KIPP Minnesota is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with special needs, providing individualized attention, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Paraprofessional will assist our Teachers with classroom lessons, activities, and organization management. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of students.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including EBD, LD, and MMH.
  • Supervise students in and out of the classroom, ensuring their physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs are met.
  • Help Teachers with clerical duties, such as tracking student attendance, typing, filing, photocopying, and grading tests and homework.
  • Assist with extracurricular activities and school functions.
  • Ensure the upkeep of educational materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Track students' progress and prepare reports for parents.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED plus two year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or the passing of the ParaPro Assessment.
  • Willingness to work with and show respect for students with special needs.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
  • Experience working with special education students, including EBD, LD, and MMH.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow the teacher's plan and direction.
