Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Paraeducator to join our team at Anoka-Hennepin School District. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Manage behavior, redirecting, calming, or removing a disruptive student from the classroom when necessary.
  • Monitor and record student progress in instructional areas, including academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, and more.
  • Manage physical needs, including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Personal Care Assistant certification required to be completed within 30 days of start date.
  • Candidates must have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution or have passed the ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
  • Ability to supervise students and take direction.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and complete assigned days.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
Compensation

The rate of pay for this position is $18.00/hour, or up to DOQ with K-12 experience. Additional compensation may be available for Special Ed Paras serving Center-based students and classrooms 50 percent or more of their time, or for those working at Bridges, Pathways, or River Trail Learning Center.

Benefits

Insurance benefits are available for assigned positions of 6 hours or more per day.
