Customer Service Representative

Mammoth Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a high-energy Customer Service Representative to work in Mammoth Lakes, CA. The schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM, with overtime opportunities. The starting pay is $22.00 per hour, with a pay range of $22.00-$24.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer disputes and become proficient in proprietary operational systems.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and in person to receive orders for installation, turn on, discontinuance, or change in service.
  • Fill out contract forms, determine charges for service requested, collect deposits, prepare change of address records, and issue discontinuance orders.
  • Utilize software applications, including MS Word and Excel, proficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, promoting goodwill and interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements and resolve problems or complaints.
  • Work in a fast-paced, cooperative environment with high call volumes and detailed expectations.
  • Solicit the sale of new or additional services.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Work environment is in a call center, with clean, ventilated, and well-lit areas.
  • Customer Service Representatives have their own workstation or cubicle space, equipped with a telephone, headset, and computer.
  • CSR call areas can be noisy, and work may be repetitious and stressful, with little time in between calls, while providing excellent service.
  • Long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen are common.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • 2 years of Customer Service experience in a high call volume atmosphere.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Email preferred. Typing and 10-key skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
