Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. As a Contract Specialist, you will play a critical role in the procurement of construction and Architect-Engineer contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and administer contracts for the procurement of supplies, services, and specialized equipment.
  • Apply state-of-the-art project management techniques to contracting projects.
  • Develop policies and procedures for contract evaluation, negotiation, and administration.
  • Manage and motivate contracting/procurement personnel to achieve organizational goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service or private/public sector.

  • Developing and executing contracts for a range of supplies, services, and equipment.
  • Applying project management techniques to contracting projects.
  • Developing policies and procedures for contract evaluation, negotiation, and administration.
  • Managing and motivating contracting/procurement personnel.
Education

A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution is required. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.

Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
