Key Responsibilities- Provide optimal guest experience services, including answering questions, making recommendations, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist guests in selecting merchandise, including pets, pet food, and pet supplies, to meet their needs and preferences.
- Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals, including pets, birds, reptiles, and fish.
- Perform cashiering duties, including processing transactions, handling cash and credit sales, and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform related duties in support of the store's sales goals, including stocking merchandise, facing shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Ensure merchandise is properly stocked and priced, and that the store is well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Adhere to established operational guidelines and store policies and procedures, including safety protocols and loss prevention measures.
- Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to Guest Experience Leader and/or Leader on Duty as needed.
- Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure the health and well-being of live animals by providing the correct care in accordance with established Petco standards, policies, and procedures.
- Interact professionally and effectively with all professional contacts, with an emphasis on company interests.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all Petco guests, including determining their needs and sharing product knowledge to suggest the appropriate merchandise.
- Demonstrate knowledge in nutrition, Pals Rewards membership sign-up, Welcome to the Family, and effective suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience for all Omni-channel initiatives, including Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery.
- Perform all aspects of point-of-sale service, including cash sales, credit and check sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Assist in stocking and facing merchandise according to established standards.
- Complete cash register transactions and guest carry-out service, including merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds per trip.
- Adhere to loss prevention policies.
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and stocking of merchandise according to established procedures.
- Ensure that store animals, birds, reptiles, and fish receive the highest quality care, maintained in habitats that are clean, safe, and secure.
- Alert store leaders immediately if any animal, reptile, bird, or fish is in need of medical attention or other special care.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks as required to maintain the professional image and appearance of the store.
- Assist store leadership in the opening and closing of the store as needed, including the accurate completion of required paperwork.
- Participate in the completion of quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
- Adhere to and promote established safety procedures and maintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environment for store partners, guests, and animals.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
