Position Overview: This role primarily focuses on shot blasting, surface preparation, and the management of equipment.
Safety Considerations: This position is classified as Safety-Sensitive, meaning it involves tasks that could impact the safety and health of the employee and others. Responsibilities may include operating material handling equipment, motorized vehicles, welding apparatus, fabrication machinery, power tools, and working at heights or in confined spaces as dictated by safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting equipment in and out of the blast room using overhead cranes or forklifts.
- Executing shot blasting operations on various equipment.
- Maintaining and servicing blast equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Expectations: In addition to the core responsibilities, the employee is expected to:

Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in industrial coating preparation and application.
- Ability to read and understand pre-paint surface preparation guidelines.
- Compliance with quality and cosmetic standards.
- Proficient in conducting blasting operations safely and using blast media appropriately.
- Must pass a pulmonary test and utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Equipment and Tools:
- Personal protective equipment.
- Forklift.
- Overhead crane.
- Blast equipment.
- Basic hand tools.
- Basic power tools.
Working Environment:
- Primarily within a controlled shop setting.
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for 7+ hours during a typical workday.
- Minimal sitting required; walking for 1-4 hours is expected.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive use of upper extremities for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling, and crawling.
- Occasional use of foot controls.
