At Lifelancer, we are seeking a Clinical Access Specialist to join our team in the United States. As a key member of our Patient Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients have access to our rare disease therapies.

About the Role

This is a full-time, remote position that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, including Market Access, Field Sales, and Patient Advocacy, to optimize patient care and support Alnylam's patient-focused vision.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' needs and develop individual action plans to provide access to Alnylam products.
  • Minimize access barriers by establishing relationships with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate personalized coordination of patient care.
  • Leverage cross-functional partners to increase knowledge on payor policy and processes.
  • Provide case-specific guidance on PA and policy requirements, denials, patient assistance programs, and related resources.
  • Be knowledgeable of changes in the payer landscape and access environment, and communicate information to relevant channels.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on each patient, their insurance, coverage approvals, and ongoing coverage requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • PACs certification preferred but not required.
  • Rare disease patient/caregiver case management experience with a focus on complex reimbursement issues.
  • At least 3 years of recent case management experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with rare disease experience a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of reimbursement models, including Medicare A, B, C, and D.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to peer groups.
  • Ability to work strategically in a cross-functional team environment and influence without authority.
  • Passion for delivering value to patients and their families, with a commitment to Alnylam's core values.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
