Job Summary

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Retail General Manager to oversee store operations, including customer service, stocking, merchandising, inventory control, budgeting, and record keeping.
  • Assist in supervising and training employees, including setting schedules and ensuring a smooth process for all donation functions.
  • Monitor sales transactions, maintain a neat and orderly store, and ensure proper sales procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with the employment and training program to further the mission and work collaboratively with other divisions and stores as needed.
  • Assist customers, handle complaints, and maintain a safe environment for customers and employees.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of previous retail progressive management experience supervising several departments and/or staff or more employees.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in retail or equivalent industry.
  • Experience selecting, assessing, coaching, and developing associates, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Proficiency in setting and managing schedules for store staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
