Position Summary

The Nursing Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing nursing personnel to guarantee the delivery of high-quality care and optimal team performance in alignment with the organization's mission and values. This position involves providing clinical and administrative support to site nursing supervisors, managing staff schedules, liaising with external agencies, and performing various tasks as directed by the medical leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and mentor site nursing supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Facilitate training and resources necessary for nursing staff.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process for nursing positions.
  • Maintain effective communication with medical leadership regarding staff needs.
  • Organize and lead team meetings to enhance client care and staff development.
  • Support nursing supervisors in addressing clients' medical concerns in collaboration with community healthcare partners.
Clinical Oversight
  • Oversee all nursing treatment services delivered by the nursing team.
  • Ensure the provision of trauma-informed and culturally competent care.
  • Review clinical documentation to meet quality management standards.
  • Ensure timely and compliant documentation by nursing staff.
  • Manage crisis situations related to service delivery effectively.
  • Facilitate client case conferences as needed.
  • Encourage collaboration among all members of the behavioral health team.
Administrative Duties
  • Ensure treatment plans align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and collaborators.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and program requirements.
  • Monitor nursing staff adherence to operational policies.
  • Consult with medical leadership regarding client assignments and workload distribution.
  • Ensure timely execution of lab orders and review of results.
Direct Service Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing services as required, including crisis intervention and assessments.
  • Maintain clinical oversight of nursing operations.
  • Assist with medication management and adherence tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate pharmacy services and manage prescription oversight.
  • Document all client interactions appropriately.
  • Provide medication education and support to staff and interns.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in California with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health or community health setting.
  • A minimum of seven years of nursing experience, preferably in community health.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience in managing clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles.

Desired:

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including homeless and LGBTQ communities.
  • Understanding of Federally Qualified Health Center regulations.
  • Strong background in Quality Improvement initiatives.
