Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor (RN) Overview:
The Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor is responsible for providing professional oversight, mentorship, and direction to the nursing staff regarding both clinical and personnel matters within the unit. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of nursing practice and ensuring alignment with the facility's overarching philosophy.   1. Deliver professional oversight, mentorship, and direction to staff concerning clinical and personnel matters on the Long-Term Unit.
  2. Coordinate resident care in compliance with state regulations.
  3. Support residents and their families in navigating clinical challenges.
  4. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures, providing in-service training as necessary.
  5. Assist in the daily operations of resident care, including personal hygiene, meals, medication administration, and recreational activities. Conduct daily rounds to monitor all residents.
  6. Participate in meetings such as Morning Meetings, Clinical Meetings, Care Plan Meetings, and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) sessions, arriving prepared to share information.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in long-term care.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state.
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, with training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • A genuine passion for working with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled populations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the medical, social, and psychological needs of residents.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.
  • Exhibit a cooperative spirit and enthusiasm to foster a supportive environment for rehabilitation and growth.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
  • Capability to manage emergencies with calm and effective responses.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
