Position Overview:

The Security Specialist II is tasked with overseeing and safeguarding the facility premises, identifying and reporting any suspicious or unauthorized actions, as well as unsafe conditions. Responsibilities include managing access control, overseeing key distribution, and responding to emergencies. The position also involves providing assistance and security services to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors, which may include monitoring and managing aggressive individuals. Additionally, the specialist will investigate and document incidents related to the facility and act as a liaison between staff and local law enforcement.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
  • Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) certification within 30 days of employment
  • Valid Class C Driver's License
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Comprehensive understanding of the typical responsibilities of a security officer, emphasizing the physical and emotional maturity necessary for exercising sound judgment and diplomacy in a healthcare setting.
  • Requires critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in writing incident reports and interpreting business correspondence and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders, including management, clients, and the public.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to address practical problems and navigate a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to comprehend diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
