Job Overview

POSITION TITLE: Fourth Grade - Educator

DEPARTMENT: Certified Educator - Elementary

HOURS OF WORK: 8 Hours Daily / 187 Calendar Days Annually

STATUS: Certified - Contractual

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is accountable for the design, organization, and execution of a comprehensive instructional program for a 4th Grade classroom.

This position aims to foster and guide students' cognitive growth by integrating the instructor's distinctive teaching methodologies and professional insights with the established curriculum.

This role reports directly to the principal of the building.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluate, grade, and provide constructive feedback on assignments, class activities, homework, and assessments.
  • Participate in professional development training, unit meetings, and workshops.
  • Engage in collaborative discussions with community members, departments, districts, parents, and educational institutions.
  • Facilitate dynamic learning experiences by developing and delivering classroom curriculum.
  • Employ strategies to motivate, instruct, and assess to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress and necessary documentation.
  • Involve in academic, extracurricular, and professional development activities.
  • Address and correct inappropriate behavior in line with district policies and guidelines.
  • Utilize modern technologies to differentiate and support innovative instruction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area is required.
  • Master's degree in a relevant subject area is preferred.
  • Kansas teaching certification in the relevant subject area is required.
  • Experience in an educational environment or relevant professional experience is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • High level of confidentiality, motivation, and accountability.
  • Strong collaborative team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Aptitude for identifying areas for improvement and pursuing results.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role necessitates the performance of light work. The position requires the ability to analyze and prepare data to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students. The role involves occasional movement between locations and, at times, remaining stationary.

The work environment is generally free from hazards and maintains a clean atmosphere.
