Responsibilities in this Role:

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients treated by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students. May be tasked with orienting staff and students and taking on supervisory duties in their absence, as qualified.
  • Evaluates patients' needs; identifies and initiates suitable occupational therapy interventions; collaborates with other healthcare team members to uphold standards for professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary cooperation.
  • Monitors and assesses treatment effectiveness, achievement of short and long-term goals, and recommends changes to the physician as necessary.
  • Conducts thorough assessments on each patient and performs follow-up evaluations as per policy. Ensures accurate and timely quality improvement scoring. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics requiring medical rehabilitation services.
  • Capable of assessing patient pain that affects optimal functioning and participation in rehabilitation; implements appropriate interventions to alleviate pain and contacts the physician for further intervention when necessary.
  • Delivers all aspects of patient care in an environment that prioritizes patient safety and minimizes the risk of medical errors.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant state.
  • Previous experience in various aspects of occupational therapy is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
