Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care by performing diagnostic imaging procedures and providing exceptional patient service.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and Prepare Patients: Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy, and explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
- Operate Imaging Equipment: Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast.
- Review and Transmit Images: Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Maintain Quality Control: Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
- Support Departmental Operations: Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, and other related duties.
- Education: Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Work Experience: Preferred experience in radiologic technology.
- Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible, registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license required.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information, effective verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role.
