Job Summary

Ampco Pumps Co Inc is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in driving innovation and excellence in product design and development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in managing cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team in the design, development, and testing of new products and product improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and customer needs.
  • Develop and implement process and product improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software (Solid Works or Master Cam preferred) to facilitate design and drafting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with preferred experience in the food or beverage processing industry.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for determining solutions when problems arise.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively in 3D design to meet project requirements.
  • Organizational aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical co-workers and collaborate in a team environment consisting of cross-functional disciplines.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, while maintaining deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience with positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, and mixing and blending applications is a plus (sanitary or industrial).
  • Prior experience with food processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with the principles of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
