As an Early Childhood Educator at New Beginnings Christian Learning Center, you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Your responsibilities will encompass the holistic development of each child, ensuring they receive the attention and care they need to thrive.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 19 years.
- Possession of a 90-hour Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Preschool) or a combination of 45-hour Child Development and 45-hour Group Leader Certificate (School Age), along with 90-hour Certificate and 45-hour Infant and Toddler (I/T), or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Progressing towards a CDA or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare setting is essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and nurturing skills in interactions with children.
- Commitment to obtaining and maintaining a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) credentialing level, with a focus on continuous professional development.
- Completion of ADA training, Basic Health and Safety, Covid training, and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Compliance with all Licensing Agency requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the classroom environment effectively.
- Plan, supervise, and implement the MSDE Approved Curriculum tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Ensure that all children are treated with respect and dignity.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
- Facilitate engaging, hands-on activities that promote learning and development.
- Keep updated portfolios for each child, available for regular review.
- Participate actively in ongoing training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Engage actively with children, ensuring a dynamic and interactive classroom experience.
- Support and attend parent meetings and center events.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain a positive, professional demeanor towards all stakeholders.
- Demonstrate loyalty and support for the center's policies and procedures.
- Report any concerns regarding safety, children's behavior, or parent feedback to the director promptly.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to implement daily lesson plans and address classroom needs.
- Assist with diaper changes and maintain cleanliness in the classroom.
- Utilize daily cleaning checklists and contribute to the overall upkeep of the center.
- Apply appropriate and positive discipline strategies.
