- Assume the responsibilities of the Senior Emergency Response Advisor during their absence, ensuring continuity in leadership and decision-making.
- Oversee emergency response operations, applying professional skills and techniques at incident scenes.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of firefighting apparatus and equipment.
- Conduct fire code inspections of facility infrastructure and develop pre-fire plans.
- Provide guidance and training to Auxiliary Emergency Response Team members.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation, and Code.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully, tailoring messages to the audience and situation, especially in challenging circumstances.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of firefighting experience.
- Required certifications: NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2, NFPA 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, NFPA 1002 Pump Operator, NFPA 1006, NFPA 472, NFPA 1072 Technician Level, ICS 100 & 200, NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Awareness, Level 1 & Level 2, NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level 1, NFPA 1051, NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level 1 & 2.
- Valid Alberta Driver's License Class 3/4 with airbrake (Q) endorsement.
- Proficient in the MS Office suite.
