We are currently seeking a PRN Radiologic Imaging Specialist in Houston, TX. The Radiologic Imaging Specialist will be tasked with operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to capture images essential for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This role involves providing direct support to physicians during diagnostic procedures, ensuring exceptional patient care, fostering teamwork, and adhering to established radiation safety standards and guidelines to guarantee optimal patient safety and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of imaging equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance program for imaging equipment.
  • Conduct quality control procedures to verify that imaging equipment operates at peak performance.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of imaging equipment functionality.
  • Coordinate activities to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of established protocols and equipment operation during quality control testing.
  • Collaborate closely with Radiologists, Physicists, and Biomedical Engineers to ensure departmental compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and update all quality control documentation and perform regular reviews of quality control records to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging principles and practices.
  • Understanding of basic chemistry, imaging apparatus, and processing techniques.
  • Familiarity with the diagnosis and imaging of diseases and injuries.
  • Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and relevant software.
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to maintain organized systems for efficient patient flow.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's Degree or graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Two years of combined experience in multiple specialty modalities.
