Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Reliability: Continuously improve the reliability of two automated CO2 Laser strip welders and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain complex electromechanical systems, including hydraulics, gearboxes, laser optics, PLC, HMI's, motor drives, and communications.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis: Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) for delays within a team environment and execute Corrective Actions (CAs) to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Continuous Improvement: Initiate and implement continuous improvement of equipment reliability by developing and reviewing PM's, improving functional location details and material master data in SAP.
  • Maintenance Activities: Conduct maintenance activities utilizing SAP software (Notifications, Work orders, Purchase Requisitions, Spare Parts, Service Entries, etc.).
  • Training and Development: Train, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians and operations team members.
  • Energy Control Procedures: Develop and audit Energy Control Procedures (ECPs) to ensure the safety of team members performing work on mill equipment.
  • Travel and Collaboration: Travel locally and abroad for training and best practice visits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years' experience with maintenance in an industrial environment, preferably in the steel industry.
  • Skills: Understanding of standard electrical engineering principles and practices, drawings, and fine tolerances; competency or ability to learn PLC programming platforms with use of ladder logic, function block, and statement list logic; knowledge of industrial C02 laser welding systems and optics; knowledge of process automation applications; knowledge of hydraulics, power transmission, and complex machine alignments; knowledge of SAP or other CMMS systems; knowledge of IBA, or similar process trending software; demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex issues; demonstrated knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Practices.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders, work in small and large teams; demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills; anticipates and adopts innovations in business-building digital and technology applications; builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives; knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement; demonstrates the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability.
