The Accounts Payable and Receivable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions for all companies within the Jewelers Mutual Group. This role requires a strong leader who can manage a team and ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the billing and accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Coordinate and complete system testing for system changes and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Lead customer service inquiries related to billing, providing exceptional support to internal and external customers.
- Oversee the collection process with the Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT), ensuring timely and efficient resolution of accounts receivable issues.
- Have overall accountability for all billing and accounts receivable processes and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure superior customer service on all accounts receivable and billing-related issues, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor daily accounts payable and outgoing cash transactions activity, including claims payments, premium refunds, commissions, and vendor payments.
- Communicate with vendors and internal company personnel to resolve accounts payable issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Have overall accountability for all accounts payable processes and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Process payments and post to correct general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Oversee the accounts payable month-end close and related reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review and process payments according to company guidelines, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Supervise the activities of the accounts receivable and payable staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Serve as primary backup for all day-to-day banking processes, ensuring seamless operations.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives related to accounts payable and billing, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Manage all processes related to Concur Invoice, the company's invoice management system.
- Assist with various audit requests, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Participate in department projects, contributing to the success of the team.
- Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
- Property/casualty insurance background and jewelry industry experience are helpful.
- None.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.
